Looking for Research Participants with Asthma and Allergies

The Center for Healthy Minds seeks individuals with asthma and allergies interested to participate in a research study at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

UW-Madison Pulmonary Research and the Center for Healthy Minds are looking for participants with asthma and allergies. Drs. William Busse and Melissa Rosenkranz are conducting an NIH study to better understand the relationship between airway inflammation and the brain.

Participants will complete screening procedures including pulmonary function and allergy skin tests. The study consists of 6 visits; visits can last from 1-8.5 hours. Study visits include breathing tests, allergy skin testing, brain imaging, computer tasks, and collection of blood samples. Although this is not a treatment study, all study participants will be monitored closely during the study and will have access to asthma and allergy specialists if needed. 

Participants must be:

  • ages 18-50
  • nonsmokers
  • have an asthma diagnosis 

Compensation up to $500 is provided
