Sonia is honored to join the Center for Healthy Minds and its mission and vision of cultivating well-being through a kinder, wiser, and more compassionate world as their Development & Communications Specialist. Before this role, Sonia was the Operations and Volunteer Coordinator with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison and the Community School Resource Coordinator for the Madison Metropolitan School District at Mendota Elementary Community School. Sonia's work focused on providing and building wrap-around services for Scholars and their families, managing volunteer opportunities for the greater community, and building strong partnerships with donors and stakeholders at different levels. Her experience and background align with the Center's mission that all donors, philanthropists, and stakeholders are acknowledged through the lens of healing, acceptance, and science at the forefront.

Sonia's work in the Madison community has been honored through Brava magazine, The North Star Awards from the Northside Planning Council, and the Excellence with Equity Award with the school district.

What does well-being mean to me?

Well-being is a balance of finding happiness, staying healthy, and, most importantly, accepting and loving your authentic self so that you may pour that unto others.
